About the release

The 8.8.0 release is the tenth update for Datto RMM in 2020. Along with numerous fixes and improvements, some of the highlights are listed below.

Device filter widgets in the New UI dashboards

This major enhancement to the New UI dashboards allows users to add widgets powered by device filters for the first time. Refer to Device Filter. The new Device Filter widget provides the following benefits to users:

  • Visibility of the data that matters. The flexibility of Datto RMM filters allows you to identify devices with granular AND/OR logic based on selected audit data. Combined with dashboard widgets, this offers enhanced visibility to support data-driven decision making, whether you are prioritizing proactive support of clients or uncovering the next big opportunity in your device estate.
  • Built to drive action. As with all widgets in the New UI dashboards, device filter widgets are drillable, allowing you to navigate to a specific list of devices in a single click to take further action.

Other areas

  • Access filters in the New UI. Available under the Device Filters section in the left-hand navigation, device filters now have their own dedicated management page where you can search for filters, view details, and navigate to the device list. In subsequent releases we will be adding create, edit, and delete functionality, along with other methods to quickly access device filters throughout the New UI. Refer to Device Filters - New UI.
  • Device list improvements. We’ve updated the New UI device lists to provide a number of user experience improvements. This includes the ability to resize columns and additional changes to increase the amount of data displayed concurrently on a device list. Refer to Devices - New UI.
